Untitled Godot FPS
A downloadable game for Windows
A Doom/Quake (and others) inspired FPS, currently in very early development.
Controls
- Typical WASD + mouse for movement and aiming.
- Tilde - open/close debug console
- Alt + Q - Reloads the current scene
- Alt - Releases/Captures the mouse
Console commands (case insensitive)
- Restart - Reloads the current scene
- Print - Prints a message to the screen, you can specify the colour to use after the message you want to print e.g. "print hello world green"
- Clear - Clears the debug console's output window
- FPSLimit - Sets the maximum FPS to the specified value, 0 = no limit. A value of "get" will display the current limit
Current workflow
Weapons:
3D models are animated in blender and rendered out as image sequences.
These image sequences are then imported into Krita where they are palettized using the DOOM palette and exported with a magenta background.
A shader is used to remove the magenta background.
Levels:
Level textures are derived from photo sources, either from texture.ninja or manually extracted from CC0 images using Texture Ripper.
Images are imported into Krita where they are edited, e.g. making them seamless if they need to repeat.
Images are then palettized using the DOOM palette and finally exported as 8-bit (256 colour) PNGs.
Levels are created in TrenchBroom and imported into Godot via Qodot.
Audio:
Audio is made up of stock samples and synthesized sounds which are edited and processed in Tenacity (a fork of Audacity) and exported at 11025hz.
